I have included below a list of some pressing Canadian issues that deserve more of the Parliament's time than who is the captain of the Canadian hockey team. They include but are not limited to:
- The war in Afghanistan.
- The treatment of detainees from said war in Afghanistan.
- The on going problems with health care.
- The cost of pharamceuticals.
- The lack of action on our committment to the Kyoto protocol.
- The pollution caused by the harvesting of crude oil from the Alberta Oil Sands.
- The perceived problems with the equalization formula.
- Abuse of non-renewable resources.
- Homelessness.
- Unemployment.
- Poverty and the working poor.
- Student debt.
- The quality of education.
- A national science policy.
- The tax regime.
- How to most effectively screw over Conrad Black.
If the assault by Tod Bertruzzi does not warrant any kind of investigation out side of the NHL, I can't see how people can excuse this gross waste of taxpayers dollars on an issue already resolved by the NHL's disciplinary system.
